Beatnik - 5w

£1,125.00

This delightful little practice amp gives great British blues rock style of tone in a manageable size.

Boasting all it’s ‘suprisingly’ huge sound for a 5W from a single ended EL84 circuit. The EL84 stands out on its own with regard to power tubes - from beautiful jangly guitar to pure British crunch.

A single 12AX7 (ECC83) provides all the signal conditioning you need, setting up a single volume and single tone control. The EL84 does the rest.

We use the classic Celestion G10 Greenback as standard for the amp, but if you prefer an alternative, give us call and we can help you out with what you want.

Like all our amps the circuit is hand wired giving you an amp for life. All components accessible and easily maintainable (no pcb’s)

The cabinet as with all our cab’s is made from reclaimed pine, stained and waxed. We are more than happy to discuss the shade of stain you may prefer (med oak in the photo’s).

Weighing in at just 11kg its dimensions are 425mm wide, 365mm high and 230mm deep.

Below is a sound bite of the 5w Beatnik being used both for a bit of rhythm and a bit of lead. Our friend Ian Stone (Bootleg Floyd) very kindly demoed on the clip showing what he can do with just volume controls on his guitar and volume controls on the Beatnik. Absolutely no pedals or recording effects were used so that you can get the real raw sound of the amp. Recorded using a Behringer B906 Condenser mic and a Sure SM57, Scarlett 2i2 interface and Garage band.
