Hot Rod Deluxe and Blues Deluxe Conversions

Here at Vyse we have come up with a number of options to turn your existing Hot Rod Deluxe or Blues Deluxe into a hand wired, fully maintainable, versatile gigging amp.

These classic amps are PCB based and so have a shelf life. Some of the PCB’s are prone to heat damage and so can cause issues in the future.

By converting these to hand wired versions, you will ensure its future and your ability to continue using it as your gigging amp and as a fantastic pedal platform.

By re-using the original cab, speaker and transformer set we can keep the cost to a minimum and have a resultant 40w gigging amp with bags of character.

Make your Choice

We believe that the majority of Hot Rod Deluxe owners use their amps as a clean channel and pedal platform only and seldom use the drive channel.

With this in mind, we have come up with a number of possible options -

  1. Install a new hand wired version of the original clean channel of the Hot Rod Deluxe (or Blues Deluxe). This would include a new valve driven spring reverb, a pre-amp volume control that would have a full sweep, master volume and full tone stack i.e Treble, Bass and Mid.

  2. Install a new hand wired 60’s Blackface Deluxe Reverb clean channel 1 circuit AB763. There is a further option to upgrade this with a mid control and to also add a valve driven spring reverb.

  3. Install a new hand wired 35w version of a 60’s Blackface Princeton Reverb circuit AA1164.
